What is inconel 601 round bar?
Inconel 601 round bar is a strong and heat-resistant type of nickel alloy. It consists of iron, chromium, and
aluminum added to nickel in varying amounts depending on the desired result. This alloy exhibits great
resistance to both corrosion and oxidation, making it a useful industrial material for many electrical
applications and in high temperature environments. Its properties make it ideal for use in the aerospace
industries as well as in chemical plants, thermal processing equipment, exhaust systems, oil burners, and

What is the difference between inconel 600 and 601 round bar?
Inconel 600 and 601 round bars are two alloys of the same metal, nickel chromium iron, but differ in the amount
of carbon used during manufacturing. Inconel 600 contains 0.15-0.30% carbon, making it more ductile than its
counterpart 601, which has 0.10-0.25%. Both are well suited for high temperatures and corrosive environments.
However, the higher carbon content of 600 makes it ideal for pressure vessel components, cryogenic tanks, and
specialty oil and gas industry equipment due to its superior load-bearing properties compared to Inconel 601. It
can also be cold-worked easily but still retain its good formability while having lesser tensile strength than
Inconel 601’s excellent oxidation resistance.
